INAU’s Children Clubs objective is to “Promote and implement actions that foster the development of the child as an integral being, guiding and supporting his family in the search for strategies that allow a better quality of life for all of them.”

This state institution (INAU) establishes guidelines for operation and control. Espigas Children’s Club works according to an agreement signed between INAU and Centro Espigas.

Centro Espigas Children’s Club offers children in the area educational activities that complement formal education (Initial and Primary School). We use methodologies that favor participation, autonomy and reflection, where playing is the main strategy for achieving the objectives. We tend to children from 4 years old to 4th year of state primary schools.

According to the agreement signed with INAU, the program reaches 104 children, and another 20 children over 4 years of age, whose care is financed by the Fundación Retoño Uruguay. In addition, with the purpose of offereing a more complete and better quality education, FRU finances: a Psychomotor Specialist for Initial Education, an Educational Psychologist, Educators, Workshop Teachers and class assistants.

  • To generate conditions that lead to the fulfillment and the advocacy of children’s rights.
  • To strengthen academic, social and emotional skills.
  • To ensure the permanence of children in the education system.
  • To strengthen individualities in favor of groups.
  • To consciously influence the generation of healthy bonds.
  • To create an environmental awareness promoting concrete actions.
